Dear Jim, I am happy to inform you that I have recently accepted the offer to the International Studies Program at the University of Denver in the Josef Korbel School! I will start my first semester in Denver in early September 2016. I plan on obtaining a Masters in International Studies with a focus on security and development, however, I may decide to switch to Security Studies after my first few quarters there.

I wanted to thank you for the countless opportunities that you have opened up for me. Your programs have changed hundreds of lives, including mine. I cannot express in words how thankful I am that I got to travel and learn with you. I found a new passion that I hope to continue with in the future. The 2013 Nepal trip inspired me to write my thesis on the political situation in that country. While at the conference presenting my paper, I was introduced to a professor who suggested applying my passion and talent toward a Masters in International Studies. I’m not sure what you wrote in my letter of recommendation but, it must have been stunning considering the caliber of students I will be studying with at Korbel. I cannot thank you enough for your vital contribution to my current and hopefully future successes.

I couldn’t have asked for a better person to introduce me to Buddhism and the world. I sincerely hope that you have decided to continue your program at least for a few more years. It saddens me to think that others will have missed out on such an astounding and powerful experience.

Thank you again for everything Jim.
