Hi Jim,
It’s been a very long time since we’ve been in touch! I have been living in the Bay Area for close to three years now and have finally decided it’s time to go back to school. I am currently taking two education courses as prerequisites for the Single Subject Teaching Credential Program at Sonoma State University. While I am planning to start my teaching career by teaching English, I was always absolutely fascinated by religion and philosophy (particularly my concentration in Tibetan Buddhism) and hope I can further my studies in those areas and eventually teach them somewhere in my future! Much of my passion for Buddhism is attributed to you. Your teaching truly touched me and I hope I can one day have the same effect on my students. Your classes and our study abroad program in India in 2010 helped immensely in figuring out what I wanted to do after college. You helped me see how powerful the studies of humanities can be in this world and I will always be truly grateful for that.

Thank you and all the best – Nettie
